Building Relationships in 160 Characters: College Advising Via Text and Digital Tools

Gen Z youth check their phones 96 times per day! Given this, nudge-based texting has skyrocketed in popularity as a strategy for supporting college-going. This session will offer insights into Get Schooled’s seven years of texting experience, including how we’ve successfully implemented college-going text engagement across the country and our what our key strategies for trust- and relationship-building are. We’ll also cover howour free digital tools can be leveraged by other programs to enhance the work they do to support young people, including social media resources, college essay review, and job support.

Resources, including videos, games and interactives, are available on a variety of careers and career tech resources. The videos include experts in their fields educating others about what they do and how they got a start in their field. Resources are accompanied by discussion questions and activities.
